  • Sharing of Photo Challenge; discuss and share ways to adapt this activity for your students
  • Review of basic iPad navigation and device features, management of personal / school iPads, overview of built-in apps, how to set up and use an iTunes account and the App Store (link to > iPad 101)
  • Use Pic Collage to create a collage of new friends; share; brainstorm ways to use Pic Collage with your students

  • Introduce a TodaysMeet for questions, suggestions, clarification, on-going discussion 
  • Watch this video about Draw and Tell by Duck Duck Moose; in grade groups, brainstorm projects students could do using this app; create one and share
  • Discuss the value of recording student voice. Explore Sock Puppets and Puppet Pals. How might you use these apps with your students?
  • Discuss sharing and saving of student work and the use of iPads for diagnostic and formative assessment

  • The Move to Mobile Technology in the Classroom ~ slideshow and discussion of philosophy of classroom iPad use
    Discuss use of QR codes to access web content easily (big ideas: content creation, students teach themselves, providing an environment of inquiry, curiosity and student empowerment, Discuss the use of iPads 'at the point of learning' / sharing of devices / the need for saving of student work / the move to paperless assessment alternatives
