  • give your 'room' at name - choose something easy for your students to remember and type
  • choose a length of time for your room to remain active - you will see that your choices range from 1 hour to 1 month
  • create the room
  • add your name to join the chat, then post a question or challenge for your students

  • TodaysMeet has recently begun offering the ability to sign up for an account; this account offers extra options such as the ability to revisit all past created rooms that have not expired, creating transcripts and QR codes, changing the settings on rooms



Creating a QR Code
  • a QR code is a bar-code-like symbol which, when scanned, will take you to a website, or some other type of content
  • QR stands for 'Quick Reference'
  • you can create a QR code using a number of QR code generators - here are a couple of favorites >>>
  • a great QR Code Generator is qrstuff.com - if offers a wide variety of options for types of content to link to
  • another really easy QR code generator is goqr.me (but there are many others!)
  • another great QR code generator is http://delivr.com - it allows you to change the address to which the QR codes directs you without having to change the QR code (i.e. you can put some codes up around your classroom and as you change topics, you can redirect the code to different resources
  • QR codes are most often used to give quick access to a website - all you have to do is copy and paste a web address into your QR code generator and it will create the code for you!!
Using Google Drive
  • you can either log in to your Google Drive using your Google Apps for Education account, or you can sign up for a Google Account, then log in
  • go to your Google Drive - this is the management area for your files
  • choose 'Create' and you may choose which type of file you'd like to create
  • click on 'Untitled' to give your document a title
  • by default, your document is private only to you; click on 'Share' to provide access to others 
  • to share the document link with others, you may wish to use a URL shortener
