A blog for reflections on our ETFO Summer Academy iPad journey in Stratford - July 22 - 24, 2014.
I really like iMotion and educreations. I think I will use this with the grade 3's for structures.
Educreations - grade 7 FI
I can't wait to use todaysmeet.com with my grade 5/6 classroom. I think my students will also enjoy IMotion with iMovie for a variety of projects and tasks.
I will be an OT this year and look forward to seeing the different apps teachers are using across the board :)
You need to come in my class:)
I'm looking forward to using the website today's meet to share ideas on topics we discussed in class. Grade 5
I hope to use imotion for drama with Grade 1
I'm looking forward to introducing imotion with the grade 8's. Thanks:)
Educreations app for a variety of my students - some finished early will summarize the lesson which will be beneficial for my students who need to hear the lesson sevaeral times over or those who may have been absent. Also will allow me to prepare some lessons ahead of time or even use if I am going to be away for a supply teacher to use to ensure my information all gets across.
I like the idea of students summarizing for others
I like the idea of using this for my lessons that can be repeated, replayed for those students who need it. I had been thinking more from the student's use.
I'm going to be using the iPads with a 3/4 in September. I will try geoboards in math. No more elastics flying across the room!
I think Educreations will be a wonderful fit for my grade 1/2 class.
Looking forward to using notability to track student progress.
Agreed! I'm going to go home and get some student files set up right away!
Educreations for reading responses and media, Evernote to streamline my assessment.
I think ed creations will be a great way for the fast kids to create reviews for the next day.
I LOVE learning about all the new apps. Can't wait to try educreations and today's meet with my grade threes. Wondering how best to use I motion though? It somewhat feels like a make work project. All the ideas I think of, I feel like there is another app that would work just as well. Wondering if anybody had any thoughts besides storytelling or retells?
I was thinking of using I motion for math and letting students add their thoughts using the microphone to explain their understanding of things like symmetry or patterns. They could create the pattern and explain while they create.
Since I am moving this year into a primary class I am very excited to try the apps we have been introduced to in these sessions. I hope there will be further opportunities to learn next summer!
Grade 2/3 Getting to know new classroom using Pic Collage and/or Educreations
Busy morning but I am excited about educreations and how it will be used in my classroom. I can see students using this tool to sow their thinking across the curriculum. I am thinking of a returning student who struggles with writing the information but has great ideas.
Will use sock puppets for story telling and iMotion for procedural writing.
I agree with using Sock Puppets for story telling! In my gr 3 class, I can see using it to do interviews.
Like the idea of interviews
I am a novice but am learning a number of useful apps to share and make use of with the kindy team at my school and opportunities for documenting learning as well.
I have used Pic Collage for gr 3's to do a tour finding pics of real life 3D figures then put into a collage and add text to show what they know.
I am looking forward to using Educreations in Social Studies to have kids present research on Canada's Physical Regions with web images and their spoken explanations, describing their region's features.
I see many different applications for educreation with different grades and across different subject areas.
Introducing my students to some new apps and having my students choose when to use them.
I really enjoyed this course and learned so much that my head is spinning! I can't wait to start using the Google Drive and apps in my classroom this Fall.
