I didn't know that you could limit google image searches to pictures we are free to use. That is definitely helpful in the classroom :)

Our school has moved from having a digital citizenship teacher (1 40 min class a week), to embedding digital citizenship into everything we do. We are hoping that teaching digital citizenship lessons in the moment will make this learning more meaningful... sort of like teaching respect and responsibility in actual situations rather than from a binder of pre-made lessons. This article gives many examples of important teaching and learning in the moment!

As stated in the above article, "digital citizenship is as much about empowering individuals in their use of social media and technology to shape their online identities and successful experiences and providing students with authentic experiences at an early age which inform and shape their maturing use of technology in their lives

I liked the way the teacher used an example for the students by taking pictures of them and putting them on the smart board. This is a great way to start the conversation about digital citizenship. I am going to use this idea this school year!

Excellent idea for classroom use. Digital citizenship is vocabulary which should be common in the classroom and elsewhere.

I'm realizing that not only do I need to teach my students about digital citizenship, I need to learn more about it myself. I'm wondering what is the best Grade 1 friendly language I can use to effectively teach.
