I like how it seems like a difficult task but it is super easy for kids to do!

I remember when coding was all written and not at all adaptable for the younger grades. I love how it can be used from kindergarten to grade 12 now!

i did the hour of code this year. It was very successful. Flappy bird was a very challenging task. The Lego website could also be adapted for grade 6 electricity.

Very interesting. I didn't realize children so young could learn how to code and there are free tutorials they can use.

Coding is fun in all grades but especially in Primary where students learn how to problem solve early on

I tried the hour of code this year. The kids were surprised how non-technical the games were. They thought it would be something like html but it is really just choosing from a list of options.

I think coding will allow kids to feel powerful in that they control the actions of their character. even the most reluctant learner will engage when they know that they have the power. I am curious as to how this fits into the Ontario Curriculum,

I saw a Kindergarten teacher building a program with his students last year. I wished I could stay and learn how to do it myself.

I have not heard of this before. Interesting how the focus and learning is changing. National Girls learning code day is what I will encourage my daughter to do.

Logic and critical thinking skills are embedded into the process of coding. Coding apps create fun experiences so that kids learning these essential skills naturally, with hands on experiences.

It was interesting to watch kids participating in Hour of Code. Some were persistent and wanted to complete challenges in as few moves as possible, others were reduced to tears when they didn't know the answer right away.
