We thought we'd create a place where any of you that participated in the Barrie iPad Summer Academy session could post follow-up questions or comments that you might have as you continue on your iPad learning journey! Trish and I enjoyed meeting all of you in July and are happy to support you through the summer or into the school year as you explore new ways to use your iPads with students. All the best to you!
Many in the Educational Technology field are calling coding 'the next literacy'. Read this article from the CBC Parent Newsletter and share your thoughts in the comments section.

We are both instructors/presenters with our local board, ETFO and OTF and enjoy offering PD sessions for teachers on iPads and a variety of other technology topics. We also love to present at conferences and have been fortunate to be involved in some amazing local and provincial events! This is our third summer being facilitators of ETFO Summer Academy sessions, and we are excited to be in Simcoe County this year!
We are also both involved in our local ETFO, with positions on the Executive and various committees, including the Equity and Social Justice Committee. This is important work for us and we love to weave equity messages into all of our work ~ including iPad workshops ~ so stay tuned for that this week! We love this part of the province and are really looking forward to offering this workshop in Barrie. It is interesting to note that the 43 attendees to this session represent 10 different locals! We are excited to meet all of you, hear about your teaching passions and share some great ideas about using iPads for Learning! |
